The Young and the Restless (Y&R) spoilers hint that Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) may expose Victor Newman’s (Eric Braeden) rat. Will Adam crush Michael Baldwin (Christian LeBlanc) and prove who’s truly loyal?

In the January 7 episode, Adam made it clear that he doesn’t have the same soft spot for Michael that Victor has.

Now that Adam has scored a proper place in the Newman family, he takes his role in protecting it seriously.

Adam obviously has some doubts about whether Michael is sincerely loyal to Victor and the Newman clan.

Although Michael offered up the Roman coin as proof that he’s earned Victor’s trust back, it didn’t seem to impress Adam much.

Adam honestly seems a little jealous of Victor’s bond with Michael.

Now that Adam has pledged his own loyalty to his father, it seems like he views Michael as someone he has to share Victor’s attention with.

Adam perhaps wants to be top dog in the loyalty department since he’s more willing to get down in the mud when Victor asks.

Despite Michael’s claims that Adam was acting like a “mob boss,” Adam stood by his warning that he’d crush Michael if he betrayed Victor.

Is Y&R laying the groundwork for Adam to make a traitor discovery and report back to Victor?

That’s a possibility to consider, especially since Michael is cooking up a scheme with Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) to steal the AI program and set Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) up to take the fall for it.

Even if that plan doesn’t pan out, Michael will inevitably work on some other plot to save Victor from himself.

Although Michael always has Victor’s best interests at heart, Victor won’t see it that way if his manipulation comes to light.

Adam may be just the person to expose what Michael is really up to if he keeps his promise.

Since Adam will be watching Michael closely, he may score proof of Michael’s disloyalty and open Victor’s eyes to the rat down the road!

The Young and the Restless spoilers suggest Adam will work hard to lock in his role as Victor’s true right-hand man and shove Michael out of the picture, so stay tuned for updates on any betrayal news to come.
