The Young and the Restless Friday, January 2 Recap: Matt’s Video Proof & $5 Million Demand – Mariah’s Twisted Destiny
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Friday, January 2, reveals that Matt Clark aka “Mitch Bacall” (Roger Howarth) will offer up video proof and a $5 million demand. Mariah Copeland (Camryn Grimes) will also embrace her twisted destiny, so here’s what Y&R fans can expect.
At a motel, Mariah will gaze at a family photo as she talks to Aria Porter-Copeland (Maddie and Millie Ingle).
After Mariah assumes Tessa Porter (Cait Fairbanks) has been singing Aria lullabies, she’ll reflect on when she sang to Dominic Newman-Abbott-Winters-Chancellor (last played by Rainn and River Ware) when she was carrying him.
Mariah will acknowledge that she hasn’t been sleeping much since her worst nightmare is there every time she closes her eyes.
A vision of Ian Ward (Ray Wise) will appear and act offended over Mariah talking that way about the person who loves her most.
“Ian” will push Mariah to look in the mirror and accept who she really is.
After “Ian” urges Mariah to truly let Tessa and Aria, Mariah will let out an anguished cry and throw the family photo in the trash.
“Ian” will think it’s time for Mariah to embrace her destiny, so she’ll move past her doubts in the end.
Mariah will insist the path is clear and the plan is set, so she’ll suggest nothing can go wrong if she believes.
“Ian” will confirm that’s true as he continues steering Mariah down the wrong road.
At Crimson Lights, Tessa will kiss Daniel Romalotti Jr. (Michael Graziadei) on the patio and assure him that she doesn’t regret last night.
Tessa will also admit she called a lawyer this morning to file for divorce and won’t feel guilty about anything since Mariah gave up first.
As for Tessa’s connection to Daniel, she’ll want to keep feeling seen and will encourage him to keep holding her.
At the cottage, Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) will stop by to check on Sharon Newman (Sharon Case) and Noah Newman (Lucas Adams) since he heard about the latest Matt drama.
When Adam questions if Sienna Bacall (Tamara Braun) can be trusted, Noah will lash out at him.
After Noah calms down and apologizes, Adam will understand that he’s stressed over Sienna’s kidnapping.
Sharon and Adam will work to reassure Noah while Nick Newman (Joshua Morrow) frets to Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) at the main ranch house.
Nick will worry since they haven’t heard from Matt since he made the offer, but Victor will feel confident that he’ll be in touch.
Meanwhile, Matt will get drugged Sienna awake enough to make a video for proof of life.
After Matt texts Nick to meet, Nick will skip security since it might scare Matt off.
Victor will hint about another idea and will head to the cottage with updates for Noah.
At the park overlook, Matt will insist he wants more than the $1 million that Nick proposed.
Matt will demand $5 million instead and will show the Sienna video as evidence that she’s still alive.
Nick will act like it’ll take some time to get the money together, but Matt will insist he wants it within the hour or else he’ll send a very different video that Nick won’t like.
Nick will give Victor the latest news and let him know Matt’s on the move, so it appears Victor will have him tailed.
Noah will be relieved to find out Sienna is still alive so far, but he’ll worry this could all be some twisted game that they’re going to lose.
Victor will reassure Noah that everything will be handled.
Once Matt returns to Annie Stewart (Catherine Kresge) at the motel, he’ll fill her in on the new deal he made with Nick.
However, Matt will make it clear that he has no intention of letting Noah and Sienna live happily ever after at the end of all this.
Instead, Matt will decide to put Sienna and Noah in a joint grave forever.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Matt has more tricks up his sleeve, but so do the Newmans!
