The Young and the Restless Tuesday, August 26 Recap: Cane Says Plan Is Dead After Colin Flashback
The Young and the Restless (Y&R) recap for Tuesday, August 26, reveals that Cane Ashby (Billy Flynn) will say that the “plan is dead” after a crucial Colin Atkinson (Tristan Rogers) flashback, so he’ll leave Phyllis Summers (Michelle Stafford) reeling over the news.
On Cane’s train on Tuesday’s Y&R episode, he’ll recall taking care of Colin as he neared the end of his life.
Cane will decide to make a video explaining everything since the twins have been refusing his attempts to talk.
Using his cell phone, Cane will record a speech about Mattie Ashby (Lexie Stevenson) and Charlie Ashby (Noah Alexander Gerry) being miracles when they were born.
Since Cane was afraid he would fail, he created “Aristotle Dumas” to protect himself in case he crashed and burned.
Cane couldn’t risk failing his family and disappointing them, but he wound up doing that anyway.
As Cane reflects on special moments he missed and voices his regrets about the distance he created, Phyllis will eventually show up and eavesdrop around the corner.
Phyllis will seem moved over Cane’s heartfelt words and will clear her throat a bit once he’s done recording.
Cane will seem irritated over Phyllis listening in, but she’ll give him a pep talk and push him to send that video.
Although Cane will worry it might be too little, too late, Phyllis will think he should offer up this explanation and then give the twins a chance to process it.
Phyllis will urge Cane to back off Lily Winters (Christel Khalil) as well.
Once Phyllis sees the letter on the table, Cane will admit Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) made his latest move.
Cane will explain Colin’s last swindle on the woman who owned the chateau and vineyard, so Phyllis will realize Victor is blackmailing him.
Phyllis will defend Colin and argue that he must’ve given that woman the time of her life, but Cane will seem torn over everything he’s feeling regarding his father.
Cane will also ask Phyllis if she did the research he asked her to, so she’ll confirm she’s been reading up on artificial intelligence.
Phyllis will basically wonder just how sinister Cane’s plan is regarding AI, but he won’t get into the details right now.
Instead, Cane will push Phyllis to come back and discuss his goals over dinner.
Once Phyllis leaves, Cane will flash back to more memories as Tristan Rogers makes his final Colin appearance, which was obviously filmed before the actor’s recent passing.
In those flashbacks, fans will see that Colin talked to Cane about time running out and pressured him to tell his family the truth about Dumas.
Cane opted to wait and do things his way, but he assured Colin that he’d drop Dumas when the time was right.
Colin wanted Cane to promise him that he’d bury Dumas forever.
Back in the present, Cane will smash a glass and ultimately make a phone call to Phyllis.
When Phyllis answers it in the park, she’ll be stunned as Cane says the “plan is dead” and that he’s not moving forward with it.
The Young and the Restless spoilers say Phyllis will scramble to save her future in the coming episodes.
