As Theo Silverton’s (James Cartwright) toxic behaviour pushes Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) closer to the brink in Coronation Street, two concerned neighbours start to suspect that something is very wrong. Will they rescue Todd before it’s too late?

Coronation Street Viewers have been horrified to see fan favourite Todd Grimshaw face violent outbursts and manipulation at the hands of boyfriend Theo Silverton.

Ever since his wife Danielle (Natalie Anderson) left him due to his infidelity, the sinister scaffolder has taken out his feelings of self-loathing and internalised homophobia on Todd. At first it started small, with Theo using marathon training and working out as a subtle way of controlling how Todd looks and where he goes.

But Theo’s abuse took a shocking turn in mid-November when in a jealous rage, he smashed Todd’s face into a mirror.

Even though Todd needed stitches in A & E, Theo still managed to bully him into submission. But as the toll Theo’s domestic violence is taking becomes harder for Todd to hide, hope may finally be in sight.

Todd’s week gets off to a bad start when Theo pressures him into lying low in the flat for a few days, so the neighbours don’t see his injuries. After all, they wouldn’t want anyone to jump to the wrong conclusion – or the right one! So when Summer (Harriet Bibby) moans that Todd’s blown off their plans together and gone to London, Theo plays along.

Meanwhile, a restless Todd’s all alone in the flat as he peers out of the window. But when someone looks up from the street below, he panics and ducks out of sight. How long can he live this way?

We realise who that mystery someone was when Summer finds Theo in the Rovers and reports that she saw someone in their flat, worried that it was a burglar. With little choice, Theo agrees to check it out. But Gary (Mikey North) and Ben (Aaron McCusker) insist on coming along as back up. Are Theo’s lies about to come crumbling down?

Nobody can keep a secret in Weatherfield and sure enough, word of the ‘burglary’ reaches Dev (Jimmi Harkishin), who calls round to check everything’s all right. But when Todd emerges from the shower, he’s forced to lie that he’s back from London and the cut on his head is the result of a drunken afternoon. Will Dev buy his story?
