Of course, everyone knows reality TV is all in the editing. But Kim cleared the air on a few points while making it murkier on others.

Last week, viewers crowed when it looked like Kim Menzies expected Usman Umar to put a ring on it. He said he had a surprise for her back in his hotel room. And the moment he said “close your eyes”, she asked, “are you proposing”? Of course, he didn’t. Instead, Usman gave her a beaded necklace.
Later, in her confessional scene, she said it would be “absolutely insane” to think he would propose on their second date. However, 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, viewers seemed to not recognize sarcasm. And the serious editing didn’t help. In a recent interview, Kimberly spelled it out. She said it was “so misconstrued”.

Kim Menzies said not only did she know he wasn’t proposing, but would have said “no” if he had. She said they were laughing and hanging out and it was a joke. So, for 90 Day Fiance fans who thought Kim was jumping the gun… She claims she was kidding and it was “too soon” for a real proposal.

Another scene Kimberly Menzies called out for editing was the part with her gifts. She said 90 Day Fiance editing made it look like he “grabbed his stuff” and walked out. She said it definitely “it wasn’t like that”. And she also said if she had a redo, she’d still give Usman the laptop and PS5.
However, she joked one thing about the 90 Day Fiance scene annoyed her. See below, where Usman Umar smooched his new digital toy? She said she was “a little mad” he kissed the PS5 more than he did her. Kim Menzies made clear he didn’t simply take the gifts and go after making out with his new game system.

Instead, she said they’d been hanging out for a couple of hours. She said it takes a long time for 90 Day Fiance crew to set up the shots. Kim says they’d been hanging out, talking, and laughing for hours before they taped the scene. And she blames editing for making it look like a gift grab and dash.

Kim Menzies also talked to Us Weekly about the scenes with Rosa Ree. She said she regrets overreacting to him inviting her to dinner with them. But she says she and Rosa remain friends and message each other. She also called her a “nice woman”. However, Kim doesn’t regret her feelings about Usman Umar’s managers.
She said she did not overreact about the way his managers came at her on 90 Day Fiance. And she seemed to throw shade at Badmus and Slam T. She threw up air quotes when calling them a “management team”. So, it seems she still doesn’t care for these guys.
Finally, the interviewer asked Kim if she and Usman did 90 Day Fiance for love or other reasons. She says she turned him down when he first asked her to be on the TLC show with him. She said they were both “dating other people” and her life was good. But Usman talked her into it and she said they wanted to “get their story our there”.
But what does that mean? Why do they need to be on a reality show for that? Kim Menzies said she and Usman Umar wanted to show how they “evolved”. She went from superfan to friend to maybe more. But her word choice didn’t clear the air. Maybe seeing if they’re still together at season’s end will, though.
