GH & OLTL Alum Roger Howarth Joining The Young and the Restless
The Young and the Restless spoilers hint at more exciting casting news as soap opera veteran Roger Howarth is slated to join the CBS soap opera in the fall.
As of this writing, no information has been released regarding who Howarth will play on the Y&R.
With that said, the news of him entering storylines comes mere days after the daytime drama announced another major soap star joining the Genao City fold, as General Hospital (GH), All My Children (AMC), and Days of Our Lives alum, Tamara Braun, is also entering the Y&R canvas this September.
Braun will be playing Sienna Bell, someone who has connections with several characters already on screen.
Will Braun and Howarth’s storylines intertwine? Only time will tell! Most daytime drama fans are familiar with Howarth’s past work.
The actor hit the soap scene in 1992, with roles on both Loving and Guiding Light. In that year as well, he debuted on One Life to Live (OLTL) as Todd Manning – a role that helped establish him in daytime drama.
While Howarth would exit the show in 1995, he returned from 1996 to 1998, and again in 2000 to 2003, re-entering the show one final time from 2011 until OLTL went off the air.
Howarth was also on As the World Turns (ATWT), where he played Paul Ryan from 2003 until that show ended, too in 2010.
More recently, the actor changed the landscape of Port Charles, entering in 2013 as his OLTL character, Todd Manning, and would later transition into a recast of Franco Baldwin.
Franco exited the canvas in 2020, and about a year later, Howarth came back to GH for one last time, playing Dr. Austin Gatlin-Holt until that character met his demise in 2023.
Howarth is a Daytime Emmy winner, scoring a win in the Outstanding Younger Actor category for his OLTL work as Todd Manning in 1994.
The soap actor has been nominated for a total of five Daytime Emmys throughout his career.
The Young and the Restless spoilers imply some big things happening in Genoa City once fall hits, so it’ll be interesting to see if Howarth plays a good guy or bad guy on the soap opera and if he’s linked to Tamara Braun’s character!
