Danger for local Coronation Street teen as she suddenly collapses
Asha Alahan (Tanisha Gorey) has survived a nightmare. Coronation Street viewers have witnessed the troubled teen’s struggle with anxiety and depression…culminating in a heart-wrenching suicide attempt.
Now on the road to recovery, Asha suffers a potentially devastating setback when one of her best friends keels over right before her eyes…
Outspoken and rebellious, the plucky paramedic’s life was turned upside down this year when she suffered a vile racist attack from Naomi, one of her patients.
When confronted, the abusive bigot denied everything and threatened to sue Asha if she pursued police action.

The whole ordeal left Asha at her must vulnerable and alone, until she finally hit breaking point and tragically overdosed on sleeping pills. Fortunately, she was rescued just in time and is currently receiving care in a mental health unit.
Distraught Dad Dev Alahan (Jimmy Harkishin) has done his best to support his daughter. But our Asha’s never been the same since.
So when Dev visits her in the mental health unit, Asha’s week gets off to a positive start as she considers coming home.
But whilst she’s got the full support of the Alahan clan, Asha worries that none of her friends have been in touch.
Going straight into Papa Bear mode, Dev charges off to confront Summer Spellman (Harriet Bibby), Nina Lucas (Mollie Gallagher) and Amy Barlow (Elle Mulvaney) for abandoning their so-called bestie in her hour of need. Then he drops the bombshell – because of their lack of support, Asha’s not sure she wants to come home anymore.
The girls are guilt-ridden to have let Asha down…

Eager to make things right, Nina and Amy visit Asha in the care home and present her with a jigsaw puzzle they’ve created with all their faces on… but Summer’s nowhere to be found.
When the girls explain that Summer has uni commitments, Asha hides her hurt – Until Summer herself finally arrives.
Asha’s face lights up… but her joy soon turns to horror as a pale Summer grasps for the door frame…before suddenly passing out.
