Dark Emmerdale scenes in early ITVX release as character hides a gun
The following article contains spoiler from an episode of Emmerdale that hasn’t aired on ITV1 yet, but can be viewed on ITVX.
It’s safe to assume that Kev Townsend (Chris Coghill) doesn’t have a great deal of experience when it comes to genuine romances and break-ups in Emmerdale, so it’s no surprise being dumped by Robert Sugden (Ryan Hawley) has hit him hard.
Shortly after Robert became Kev’s cellmate in prison, they kissed and then began a secret relationship. Robert was getting attacked by other inmates for his sexuality prior to connecting with Kev, so the two of them making it obvious they were romantically interested in each other while in prison was a big no-no.
The connection these two had while inside was complicated, but they did love each other. Kev and Robert became each other’s support networks while in prison – they both believed they’d be inside for years and years, and began to create a new life together.
On the outside, things were never going to work. A few days ago, Robert ended his relationship with Kev, but failed to tell him that it was because he wants to be with Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller).
Kev was utterly heartbroken. On Monday, he spoke to GP Liam Cavanagh (Jonny McPherson) and explained that if he continues spinning the narrative that he doesn’t have long left to live, Robert will feel bad and eventually reunite with him.
Operation get back with Robert continued in today’s episode but this time, the terminal illness wasn’t the main focus for Kev.
Instead, it was money.

Kev paid a visit to Victoria Sugden (Isabel Hodgins) and gifted her a crocheted jumper for Harry – because the same man who committed armed robbery can also crochet and bake cakes.
She then spoke about how she needs to buy a piece of farm machinery, but doesn’t have enough money to get one.
Kev then grabbed his opportunity and told Vic that he’d give her the £2,000.
The problem though? Kev doesn’t actually have the money. He told Liam that evening that once he gets the cash, he can give it to Vic, and a grateful Robert will let him back in.

Kev had thought about this in great detail, as he also told Liam that he expects him to announce his misdiagnosis after, therefore covering up his lie.
Certain his masterplan is going to work, Kev headed off.
