Becky Swain (Amy Cudden) has made it clear that she intends to tear Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) away from fiancé Carla Connor (Alison King) in Coronation Street, and she was more determined to succeed than ever in tonight’s episode.

Recent scenes have seen Becky try all manner of tactics to get her wife and daughter Betsy Swain (Sydney Martin) back, but so far she’s had very little luck.

Last week, after failing to convince Betsy that Carla was toxic and they’d be better off without her, Becky rocked up at No.6 in a panic, insisting that some of the gang members she was in hiding from had been watching her.

Viewers will recall that Becky’s death was faked after she crossed a notorious gang, and she was sent to Spain with a new identity.

She returned to the cobbles earlier this year, giving Lisa the shock of her life, and creating a very complicated mess in the lives of the Connor-Swains.

Now, even co-conspirator DI Costello (Daon Broni) wants Becky gone, and has warned that there will be severe consequences if she isn’t on a flight back to Spain soon.

Despite having brushed off the DI’s threats, it’s clear that Becky has realised that time is ticking, and tonight she took the opportunity to step up her plot to get Carla out of Lisa and Betsy’s lives for good.

Having spent the night at No.6, Becky was able to listen in on an argument between Carla and Lisa, where the factory boss made it clear that she didn’t believe Becky’s story.

As Carla spelt out that if Becky was really in danger she wouldn’t have risked being followed to her daughter’s home, Lisa argued that she couldn’t take the risk of Betsy losing her mum again.

It was then that Becky made her presence felt, and it didn’t take long for Carla and Becky to start tearing each other apart, before Becky stormed out.

Later, when Betsy found her in Victoria Garden, Becky turned up the tears and made out to Betsy that Carla had said some really cruel things, before insisting that all she wanted was for Lisa and Betsy to be happy.

Betsy was clearly won over by Becky’s performance, and soon confronted Carla and Lisa, who put their foot down and made it clear that Becky wasn’t welcome anymore.

Still putting on a performance for Betsy, Becky left graciously, but it soon became obvious that she wasn’t giving in.

Speaking to someone on the phone, she asserted that she wouldn’t rest until Carla was out of their lives for good, before telling the person on the other end of the line that she could guarantee that Betsy and Lisa would be on the flight to Spain with her.
