’90 Day Fiance’: Tyray Mollett Goes Fishing? – ‘Before The 90 Days’
90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days, had some crushing news for Tyray Mollett this week. Producers informed Tyray that the love of his life Carmella was a fake. He learned that the woman he had been talking to online for four years was not who she claimed to be.
Carmella was not the “hot, thick, beautiful woman” whom he thought was his “Goddess.” A man name Christian has been pretending to be Carmella this entire time. However, Tyray still has strong feelings for Carmella and is not ready to give up yet. Despite so many red flags, he has decided that a full investigation is in order.
Before The 90 Days: Was This a Catfish Scam from the Jump?
Tyray Mollett is no stranger to tragedy. As a child, he lost his father in a park shooting. A few years ago, he quit his job to move in with his mother because she had a debilitating stroke.
The 90 Day Fiance star says his soul mate Carmella has been his number one supporter. However, she did ghost him in 2019 because she asked him for money and he said no.
The two eventually began talking again in 2020 and she explained that she had some fears of covid as to why she had not talked for a while. Other than that, Carmella and Tyray chat regularly.

The couple met on an escort site. Tyray only was only able to see pictures of his girlfriend from Barbados. “Maybe she’s not comfortable, or maybe she doesn’t like video chatting, I know a lot of people don’t,” he said. “I do plan on seeing Carmella soon, I’m just trying to see if I can find a flight that’s in my small budget so that’s pretty much what I’m waiting for at this moment.”
Despite never video chatting or speaking, Tyray had high hopes for this relationship. “Carmella is my girlfriend right now, but hopefully soon, my wife,” he said.
90 Day Fiance: Producers Have Receipts for Tyray
We find out that since their reunification in 2020 Tyray had been sending Carmella between $50 and $100 a month. Producers tell Tyray that “Carmella from Barbados” is actually a man named Christian, who had been catfishing him for money.
Tyray Mollett admits he is quite embarrassed as he begins to process this new information. He explains that he had considered this possibility before but was convinced he was avoiding a Catfish situation. “I feel disappointed because I know about computers, and I’ve watched the show Catfish,” he says to producers.
90 Day Fiance: Tyray Mollet | InstagramHe continues, “Usually [I know] what to look for when you see a fake profile. I should have seen it. It was only Snapchat. But, I didn’t think someone was trying to play me because I wasn’t sending thousands of dollars or anything.”
At first, Tyray refused to believe that he was being “played” by someone. His emotions were understandably “all over the place.” He was also trying to cope with wanting to believe Carmella was genuine and might actually exist. He explains, “I’m going back to all the past where she, like, said ‘I love you,’ and it’s weird, but I still kind of feel like maybe, she’s real or something,”
Will Christian or Carmella Suddenly Appear on TLC?
Tyray decides to try messaging Carmella to get to the bottom of this. He reached out on Snapchat several times but never got a reply. He thinks producers must have made some kind of mistake. “I still feel that connection,” he continued.
He says, “I still have a glimmer of hope that maybe it was just someone else who had her phone or something, maybe she was hacked, I don’t know. I still have a little bit in me that says this might all just be a misunderstanding. I want to get to the bottom of everything.”
Tyray. Tyray. TYRAY.
Carmella isn’t real. Don’t make me turn on you. Don’t pull the “I know I’m being scammed but gonna continue on anyway and still send money” like all the other people we’ve seen.#90DayFiance #90DayFianceBeforeThe90Days pic.twitter.com/8IHYGCJ6EN

Turns out the Before the 90 Days team had more evidence for Tyray Mollett. They produced a recorded message from Christian explaining the truth. Initially, Tyray refused to listen to the recording.
He eventually decided to hear it with the support of his siblings, Ronald and Lashanti. We hear a voice start to speak and say, “I am Christian.” Next week’s preview shows Tyray flying off to meet someone. Could it be Christian or the “person in the picture.”
