Tumultuous Beginnings on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way for Jenny Slatten & Sumit Singh

You might recall that Jenny Slatten and her now-husband Sumit Singh started out with relationship chaos. The pair met in 2011 on Facebook where he pretended to be a guy named Michael. And he even used fake photos to lure her into talking with him.

Despite being catfished, Jenny traveled to India to meet 30-year-younger Sumit (aka Michael) for the first time. The 90 Day Fiance couple fell in love and overcame their sketchy start. And so, she gave their love a chance.

She used her savings to trade California for India. Then, Sumit dropped a bombshell. He’d married another woman after Jenny flew back to America when their visit was done.

It was an arranged marriage, set up by his parents. Clearly, Sumit lied again and so Jenny went back home to California. For some viewers, this seemed like the end of their love story. But this was only the beginning as seen on 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way.

And since their debut back in season one, they attracted a legion of fans — and a few detractors. But most TLC viewers are invested in Jenny Slatten getting her happily ever after with Sumit Singh.

Sumit Fought For Their Love on The Other Way

Much to fans’ surprise, Sumit Singh and Jenny Slatten found a way. First, he divorced his wife and ended his double life. Then, of course, Jenny forgave the man she loved. After all the drama surrounding the couple’s relationship, they finally said I do.

In 2021 Sumit Singh finally married his soulmate. Viewers watched the ceremony on the 90 Day Fiance: The Other Way season 3 finale. But their journey didn’t end on The Other Way. They also appeared on the Happily Ever After spinoff.

When TLC fans answer who’s their favorite couple, this May-December pair are a frequent answer. Their love story went from catfishing to him marrying another woman to her finally getting a ring on her finger.

And soon, we’ll get more of these fan-favorites on another TLC spinoff, produced by Sharp Entertainment. And they recently revealed they scored a new gig that will keep them in front of 90 Day Fiance fans.

Jenny Endured In-Law Outrage on 90 Day Fiance – New Job Has Fans Cheering

You may recall on The Other Way, that Jenny Slatten’s future in-laws rejected her during their entire courtship. And it didn’t slow up — even after she and Sumit married. Once, their love triggered a violent showdown.

90 Day Fiance Fans will recall at one point, his parents showed up and physically dragged him out of their apartment to try to stop him from divorcing his first wife.

And Sumit’s mother, Sadhna Singh, refuses to see that her son’s truly in love. Later, his mom disowned him over the marriage.

Even now, Sumit’s still trying to get his mother’s blessing. And Jenny’s daughter, Christina Cuevas, also had her doubts about them. She and her wife Jenn appeared with them on many 90 Day Fiance spinoff episodes.

Do you recall when Christina asked her mom, “Do you think his mom will ever accept you?” Jenny replied, “No. She is set in her ways, dammit.” And it seems that this is still the case.

But what about their new jobs? Jenny revealed she and Sumit were cast on Pillow Talk. And the couple’s fans were quick to respond. One TLC viewer said: “I will watch pillow talk only because you two are on it!”

Another fan replied: “So excited to see you on pillow talk. Love you, guys.” And cast member David Toborowski said, “Welcome to the Pillow Talk family!”
