Bernie is left shaken—not just by his intensity, but by the chilling sense that something darker is brewing.
Her fears are confirmed when she discovers her face has been cut out of a wedding photograph. The violation is deeply personal, and Bernie wastes no time confronting Mal, accusing him of breaking into her home. He protests his innocence, but the damage is done. Bernie warns him to leave Weatherfield or face the police.
Alone at Number 7 while Dev and Asha are away, Bernie’s anxiety escalates. Hearing a noise at the door, she arms herself with a golf club, bracing for the worst. Though the visitor turns out to be Kit, the fear lingers. When Mal later confronts her publicly in Roy’s Rolls, Roy Cropper is forced to eject him, but the humiliation only fuels the tension.
In a moment of anger and desperation, Bernie threatens to kill Mal if he doesn’t stay away—words overheard by an unseen passerby.

After finally rebuffing Carl’s advances—thanks in part to Shona’s advice—Jodie believes she has regained control. But Ronnie’s suspicions about Carl manipulating Debbie intensify, and tension simmers in the background.
More ominously, Jodie is being watched.
A mysterious woman wearing a locket identical to Jodie’s keeps her distance, observing from afar. The tension escalates when that woman reveals herself as Olivia—someone who knows Jodie all too well.
Olivia confronts her with pointed questions about why she left and the troubling “accidents” that preceded her departure. Jodie struggles to maintain her composure, but her mask begins to slip.
The situation becomes even more disturbing when Shona realises her wedding ring is missing—only for David to find Jodie searching for it down the back of the sofa. The proximity between Jodie and David is uncomfortably intimate, and it’s clear Jodie relishes the closeness.
Later, she subtly undermines Shona by implying David has neglected household chores, further widening the cracks in their marriage. Bethany and Maria’s comments about David and Shona being the “perfect couple” only deepen Jodie’s resentment.

Instead, he spends the day at a county event with Tim and Ben, drowning his guilt in darts and drink at the Rovers. But while he laughs with friends, a call from Jim goes unanswered.
The next morning, Steve wakes with a hangover—and crushing regret. When the hospital calls with news of Jim’s rapid decline, Steve is forced to confront the possibility that he may have missed his final opportunity for reconciliation.

Elsewhere, George Shuttleworth finds himself embroiled in a legal storm after a careless joke about manipulating wills is overheard by Mrs Ripley, a potential client.
